Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have to access, delete or opt out — including under California's CCPA/CPRA and the EU's GDPR.

Updated 24 Aug 2026CCPA / CPRAGDPRNo player funds

Appalachia & Beyond respects your privacy. We are a review and information site, not a gambling operator — we do not collect gambling account details, and we never hold player funds. This policy covers the limited data we do collect when you visit.

1. What we collect

  • Analytics data. Aggregated, mostly non-identifying information about how the site is used — pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city/region from your IP), device and browser type, and the referring site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Small files stored on your device to make the site work, measure traffic and, where applicable, support marketing and affiliate-tracking. See our cookie policy for the full breakdown.
  • Information you give us. If you email us or submit a contact form, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
  • Technical logs. Standard server logs including IP address, timestamps and requested URLs, used for security and troubleshooting.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21, and this site is intended for adults only.

2. How we use it

  • To operate, maintain and secure the website.
  • To understand which content is useful and improve our reviews and guides.
  • To respond to your emails and contact-form messages.
  • To measure the performance of links to third-party operators.
  • To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse or technical issues.

3. Third parties we share with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf, including analytics providers, hosting and content-delivery providers, and affiliate-tracking networks that record when a visitor follows a link to an operator. When you leave our site for an operator, that operator's own privacy policy governs the data they collect. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Your data rights

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared.
  • Request access to, or a copy of, the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

EU/EEA and UK visitors (GDPR). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases for processing are your consent (for non-essential cookies and marketing), our legitimate interests (in running and improving the site securely), and legal obligation where applicable.

How to exercise your rights: email privacy@appalachiaandbeyond.com with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law.

5. Cookies and your choices

You can manage or refuse cookies through our consent banner (where shown) and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Full details are in our cookie policy. You can also opt out of most analytics and advertising cookies at the browser level or via industry opt-out tools.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Analytics data is typically retained in aggregated form for a limited period. Contact-form and email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period, then deleted. Server logs are rotated on a short cycle.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect the limited data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

9. Contact us
